LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania-based Federal Donuts & Chicken will be opening its first Midstate location later this week.

abc27 news reported back in September 2025 when TRUE Commercial Real Estate had announced that Federal Donuts & Chicken would be opening a new location in College Row at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster County.

After months of anticipation, Federal Donuts & Chicken has finally announced an opening date.

Recently, the company announced on Instagram that their new franchise coming soon to 621 Harrisburg Avenue in Lancaster County would make its official debut on Friday, July 10 starting at 7 a.m.

Visitors will get a chance to try out Federal Donut & Chicken’s menu of hand-crafted donuts, crispy fried chicken, and freshly brewed coffee.

Following its grand opening, the new establishment will operate 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Federal Donuts & Chicken previously told abc27 news that the new location would create about 8 to 12 new jobs.

Labor Day is finally here, which signals the unofficial change of the season as summer comes to a close and the school season finally kicks into high gear.

Are Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, More Open on Labor Day?

They’re in luck as most of the major chains like Chick-fil-A and McDonald’s – among many others – are open for business on Labor Day.

“Unlike the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, U.S. Chick-fil-A restaurants are open on Labor Day,” the fast food chain said while cautioning customers that hours of operation vary by location.

Those looking for their favorite chicken sandwich, nuggets or waffle fries are advised to check with their local Chick-fil-A restaurant to confirm their hours, either through the Chick-fil-A App, on the restaurant’s social media pages or by contacting them directly.

McDonald’s is open on Labor Day as well, though customers might want to check with their local chain to see the store hours, which could fluctuate with the holiday.

Starbucks is another popular chain that will be open on Labor Day, however, a spokesperson told Today the company’s store hours “vary by location” and some may “occasionally adjust their hours based on business and customer needs.”

Another coffee and breakfast chain, Dunkin’ Donuts, revealed its locations will be open, but operating on a slightly different schedule. Most locations will open at 6 a.m. ET and close a bit earlier than normal at 6 p.m. ET.

Is Chick-fil-A Open on Labor Day?
